GPS tracking for dog walks
With Barnaby you record every walk to the metre. Your route grows on the map in real time, distance and pace run along with you – and your home stays protected automatically thanks to the Home Zone.
How the tracking works
Leash on, a tap on “Start” – done. Barnaby immediately starts recording your position and connects the points into one continuous route. You can switch off the screen and pocket your phone: recording keeps running in the background until you finish the walk.
What you get at the end is a clean, continuous line – your walk exactly the way you went it. And for the breather at the dog park there is a pause button; afterwards recording simply carries on.
What you see during the walk
- Live route: your track grows across the map in real time.
- Distance & time: always up to date, in clear tabular figures.
- Pace per kilometre: how fast you’re going – without any pressure.
- Elevation: every climb counts, especially in hilly terrain.
Your home stays private — the Home Zone
A route that begins and ends exactly at your front door reveals where you live. That’s why Barnaby has the Home Zone: a radius of your choosing around your home. Before you share a walk, the start and end points within this zone are blurred automatically. So you can show your routes without giving away your address.
And as a matter of principle: your route is recorded only during an active walk. No constant tracking in the background, no movement profile.
Export for Garmin & co.
Your data belongs to you. Every walk can be exported as a GPX or CSV file and imported into apps like Garmin Connect or a GPX viewer. You can also delete your entire account and all its data at any time.
