Free — no ads, no selling your data
Barnaby is free: every feature, no subscription and no ads. Your data is never passed on to third parties — it isn’t a business model, it’s your walks.
Recording only during a walk
Your route is only recorded while a walk is active — exactly when you tap “Start”. The map and weather use your location only while you’re actually using the app. No movement profile is ever created in the background. How GPS tracking works in detail has its own page.
The Home Zone protects your home
A route that starts and ends right at your front door reveals where you live. That’s why the start and end of your route are blurred automatically within your Home Zone before you share anything. Where you live is nobody’s business — not even your followers’.
Analytics only with your consent
Whether anonymised usage statistics are collected is up to you — they are strictly opt-in and can be withdrawn at any time. Without your consent, nothing is measured.
Full control: export & delete
Your walks can be exported as a GPX or CSV file at any time. And if you leave, you leave completely: you can delete your account and all its data right in the app — or via the delete account page, no installed app required.
