How it works

Three steps and you’re off

Barnaby is deliberately simple: no setup marathon, no endless required fields. From download to your first recorded walk takes less than five minutes — here are the three steps in detail.

1Get the app & add your dog

Download Barnaby free for iPhone or Android and create your account. Then add your dog: name, breed, a photo — and the profile where kilometres, achievements and weekly goals will come together is ready.

Do several people walk the same dog? Share them with a partner, family or flatmates via an invite or QR code. Everyone can record walks with them — you share the profile and stats.

2Tap start

Leash on, one tap on start — that’s all it is. Barnaby records your route live: the line grows across the map, with distance, time and pace updating in real time.

Recording continues until you finish the walk — even with the screen switched off. There’s a pause button for the breather at the dog park. And recording only happens during a walk: no movement profile is ever created in the background.

3Share & keep it up

At the end of the walk you’ll see your summary: route, distance, time and pace. Attach a photo if the moment deserves it — and decide whether the walk goes public in the feed or stays private. The Home Zone protects the start and end automatically.

Shared walks collect Wuffs and comments from the community. And with every walk your statistics, goals and achievements grow — the best reason to head out again tomorrow.

And then?

Then it simply continues: set yourself a weekly goal, keep at it and watch the kilometres add up week after week. What the app can do in detail is in the feature overview — and why your data stays yours is under Why Barnaby.
